Are you interested in becoming a lifeguard? You must be 15 years of age or older and be able to attend all classes. At the first session of the class, you must successfully complete the prerequisite skills set. The test includes a 300 yard continuous swim, treading water for two minutes without using your hands and the retrieval of and swimming with a 10 pound brick. Your training will include: how to recognize and respond effectively to all emergencies in and around the water, emergency rescue techniques, CPR, first aid skills, and AED training. The fee includes all books and supplies.
Deep water portion of this class will be taught at Lyman High School Pool, 865 S. Ronald Reagan Blvd. Longwood, FL 32750 at 8:30am on Sunday morning.. Depending on the size of the class, the skills will take 1 to 3 hours. Each student is responsible to provide their own transportation to Lyman HS and from Lyman HS back to RDV Sportsplex. No one will be allowed to travel with the instructor or any other staff member from RDV Sportsplex.
Th-Sun classes are Thur&Fri 4-9pm and Sat and Sun 8:30am-6:30pm
F-Sun classes are 8:30am-6:30pm each day.
